A new telemedicine center for veterans has opened in Greenwood, S.C., the Index-Journal reported May 21. The Greenwood County Veterans Center will allow local veterans to meet with their healthcare providers virtually, free of charge. The office has a computer, printer and camera, as well as staff to assist veterans with their telehealth appointments.

E.A. Sween Company, a ready-to-eat sandwich supplier based in Minnesota, will invest $38 million to establish operations in Greenwood County, the company announced May 18. The investment is expected to create 300 jobs at 5730 Highway 25 N. in Hodges. The facility is expected to be online in the third quarter of 2023.
