Suspect arrested in connection with assault of driver in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- An arrest has been made in connection with the assault of a driver at the 'X' in Springfield last month. Springfield Police were called to the intersection of Sumner Avenue and Belmont Avenue on July 5 for a report of an assault. When they arrived, they found an unresponsive man on the ground. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center where he remains in critical, but stable condition with severe head trauma.

(Undated) – The number of new COVID cases continues to spike in Massachusetts. The state Department of Public Health reports 2,054 new cases and two deaths over the weekend. The transmission rate is now considered to be “high” or “substantial” in more than half of the state’s 14 counties. Hampden County is now under guidance for everyone to wear masks indoors in public places regardless of vaccination status. Franklin County remains the county with the lowest transmission rate.

The sky was still dark when the agents arrived at Leverett St. in Keene, New Hampshire, a leafy block of kit houses at the quiet edges of the small college town. Multiple people stabbed in Holyoke

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Early Sunday morning, 28-year-old Katherine Vazquez was arrested after Holyoke Police noticed a disturbance in the area of Main and Appleton. Officers report they saw Vazquez yelling, making threats, and walking with a knife in her hand toward people in the area of the Racing Mart parking lot. Officers allegedly ordered Vazquez to drop the knife before drawing their weapons.
