Stroll through Tennessee's oldest town

Historic Jonesborough will host Strolling on Main on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 4-8 p.m. Attendees can sample tapas throughout downtown Jonesborough and enjoy wine, cocktail and beer selections, offered at various locations. Local artists will demonstrate, display and sell their work along Main Street. Strolling musicians will entertain guests along the route. Admission is $30 for tapas and alcoholic beverage tastings and $20 for tapas only tastings. A limited number of tickets are available. Hoping for brighter days: Local church gathers at hospital to pray

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn (WJHL) – As the pandemic continues, some people choose to fight it their own way. First Christian Church hosts a Drive-In Vigil every Sunday at 7 p.m in the parking lot of Johnson City Medical Center. The group parks their vehicles in the direction of the hospital, and pray for both staff and those who are hospitalized.

When somebody is diagnosed with cancer it’s undoubtedly a difficult, sometimes devastating, diagnosis for the patient and their families. For Macy Cox, a family nurse practitioner with Holston Medical Group, it motivated her to study medicine: “I was already incredibly interested in medicine, but this made me want to fully understand the process and make it the best it possibly can be for others,” she said.
