Structure fire in Green River this morning

GREEN RIVER, WYOMING — At 1:43 a.m. this morning, Green River Fire Department, Green River Police Department, and Castle Rock Ambulance were dispatched to a report of a structure fire on East Flaming Gorge Way. It was quickly determined that the fire was located at the Flaming Gorge Motel. Immediate action from the GRPD ensured all the tenants were alerted and safely vacated the burning structure.

Suspect Sought In Wyoming Auto Parts Theft Case

Police in Rock Springs are looking for a suspect in a theft from an auto parts store. That's according to a post on the Rock Springs Police Department Facebook page. The post says the man shown in the above photo was involved in a recent theft from NAPA Auto Parts in Rock Springs.

Area Thanksgiving closings

November 23, 2022 — The Green River Recreation Center is opened today, but will be closed on Thanksgiving for their employees. It will reopen Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Meanwhile, the Rock Springs Civic Center and Family Recreation Centers are open today but closed Thursday and Friday.

Boy Scouts Collect More Than 7,600 Pounds of Food

SWEETWATER COUNTY — Local Boy Scout troops recently collected more than 7,600 pounds of food for the Food Bank of Sweetwater County. The recent Scouting For Food event in Rock Springs collected 5,909 pounds of food and $220, while Green River collected 1,738 pounds of food and $1,178, Scout Leader Vera Trefethen said.

Rocky Mountain Power invests in a new operations center in Rock Springs

ROCK SPRINGS, WYOMING — Rocky Mountain Power recently announced the purchase of a 30-acre property that will serve as the new Rock Springs operations center. “Our new Rock Springs operations center will provide a unique opportunity to optimize efficiencies, bring our teams together under one roof and reduce operating costs – all to the benefit for our customers,” said Sharon Fain, Rocky Mountain Power’s vice president of Wyoming. “The facility and size of the property also provides flexibility for future growth and supports our ongoing commitment to safe, reliable, low-cost electricity.”
