The return of Packers’ David Bakhtiari

The return of Packers LT David Bakhtiari was much anticipated in 2021. However, that quest ultimately fell short, as Packers fans know. After recovering from a torn ACL throughout the season, the Packers were hopeful that they’d have their star Left Tackle back in time for the playoffs. Instead, Bakhtiari played a handful of snaps in a relatively meaningless Week 18 game in Detroit two weeks prior and after further evaluation, was ruled out in the Packers NFC Divisional Playoff game against San Francisco. In total, Bakhtiari appeared in 1 game in the 2021 season and logged 27 snaps.

Green Bay Packers: High Expectations in 2022

The pressure is on! The Green Bay Packers have high expectations for 2022, nothing new for a team that is constantly in Super Bowl contention. NFL players are always expected to perform their duties at a high level. While rosters change and guys have to step into new roles, some players are leaned on more than others. It is no different for the Green Bay Packers, whether it’s a contract year or young players taking over for former veterans. If the Packers are looking to achieve their Super Bowl goals, they will need players to step up in big ways for 2022. Let’s look at some players with high expectations for the upcoming season.

The Packers have Struggled with Third Round Picks

Since Brian Gutekunst took over as the Packers General Manager in 2018, he has drafted five players in the third round. Although most of the highly touted prospects tend to be gone by the third round, players selected at this stage of the draft are still expected to contribute to the team. Gutekunst has hit on a number of great draft picks in the early and middle rounds, but he has had bad luck with his third round picks.

NFC Notes: Bears, Packers, Vikings

New Bears OC Luke Getsy arrives in Chicago with experience in both a college RPO system and Packers HC Matt LaFleur‘s wide zone offense, which of course is a branch off the ever-expanding Kyle Shanahan coaching tree. Getsy will of course put his own spin on things but early indications are he’ll borrow at least one thing from San Francisco: their use of a fullback. Chicago signed FB Khari Blasingame this offseason and has big hopes of turning him into a Kyle Juszczyk-like offensive weapon.

Packers: 3 post-June 1 cut candidates that look expendable

In the wake of the 2022 NFL Draft, these Green Bay Packers veterans could be in very real danger of being cut this offseason. It’s been quite the offseason for the Green Bay Packers, one of ups and downs, to be sure. Aaron Rodgers elected to return, much to the surprise of many, but the team also traded away stalwart wide receiver Davante Adams to the Raiders.

Packers Were Asked About The Sammy Watkins Signing

Earlier this offseason, the Green Bay Packers traded away star wide receiver Davante Adams. The team also saw fellow wideout Marques Valdez-Scantling leave in free agency. Sitting without two of the team's top wide receivers, the Packers decided to sign veteran wide receiver Sammy Watkins. Packers receivers coach/passing game coordinator...

Packers release K JJ Molson

The Green Bay Packers have released K JJ Molson. General Manager Brian Gutekunst announced the transaction Friday. Molson spent the last few weeks of the 2020 season and the entire 2021 season on the Packers' practice squad.

Twice as many come off Packers ticket waiting list, but more than 140,000 are still waiting to get into Lambeau Field

GREEN BAY – Nearly twice as many names will come off the Green Bay Packers'  season ticket waiting list this year, the result of normal turnover and the team redistributing some excess tickets they took back from a handful of fans. More than 99% of the Packers 38,000 season ticket holders renew their seats every year, which results in about 70-100 new ticket buyers. The team has a waiting list of 140,000 for 81,441-seat Lambeau Field, which means a...

NFC Notes: Bears, Packers, Vikings

Bears C Lucas Patrick said that his relationship with QB Justin Fields has gotten off to a great start and added that the second-year signal-caller is picking up the offense very quickly. “He can get moving pretty quick,” Patrick said, via Bears Wire. “He’s a fun guy. He’s young, so...
