Pinball is more than a game — it's where I found my community

I fell in love in the back of a punk rock Mexican restaurant and bar in Baltimore. Not with my husband, though we'll get to him later. I fell in love with pinball. For many, the draw of pinball is nostalgia. Not for me. I can't remember playing before I was in my 20s. But when I got my hands on a machine for the first time at age 25, I was hooked by the bells and chimes, the rhythmic flippers and the spinning silver ball. Soon, I was regularly trading in dollar bills for pockets full of quarters, looking for my next game.
