SPRING SUBSTITUTE: Glynn hosts two-day team padded camp

No spring, no problem. Glynn Academy made up for lost time over the past two days by hosting a smattering of teams for a padded camp at Lanier Field. Following a year hiatus, the Terrors jumped on the opportunity to get back to an annual tradition that has assisted the program prepare for success in the fall by working against some of the top teams in south Georgia.

Volunteer group spending summer in Glynn County

A group of youth volunteers will be in town for much of the summer, devoting time and energy to community projects that benefit residents of the Golden Isles. The first group of participants in a trip planned by the Humanitarian Experience for Youth (HEFY) organization spent the past week volunteering at the Rise Risley campus, at local parks and at the home of an elderly Brunswick resident.

DPH Coastal District: Beach Water Advisory Issued on Jekyll Island

The Glynn County Health Department has issued a beach water advisory for North Beach at Dexter Lane, which is from Tallu Fish Lane to Brice Lane on Jekyll Island. The Department of Natural Resources – Coastal Resources Division tests water samples on Glynn County beaches throughout the year. The tests screen for enterococcus (pronounced: en·ter·o·coc·cus) bacteria, which are found in humans and some wildlife. The testing program is not related to the capsized motor vehicle carrier in St. Simons Sound.

Devlin's competitive drive gives him an excellent shot at starting role
