Dawson Men blow out NDSCS to claim first place

The Dawson Community College Buccaneers started slow, but built momentum as the game went on and convincingly beat North Dakota State College of Science 75-47. Both teams were tied for first place in the Mon-Dak Conference with identical 7-1 records so the win put the Bucs in sole possession of 1st place, a game ahead of the Wildcats. The win also avenged an earlier loss from November when NDSCS gave Dawson their only conference blemish. In Sunday’s game, Dawson’s defense held the Wildcats to their lowest scoring output since 2013.

The remains of a Glendive soldier killed in World War II have finally been identified after 80 years. The announcement came from the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency on Jan. 20 that a set of remains recovered from the Cabanatuan Prisoner Camp following the end of the war have been identified as Franklin Bennett, who passed away at the camp in 1942.
