Man arrested after killing a 60-year-old food delivery driver in Glendale

GLENDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) - A man has been arrested after police said he killed a 60-year-old woman who was delivering food to him in Glendale earlier this month. Officers said they were responding to a report that a car had driven off of the road into a landscaping area near Bell Road and 61st Avenue on June 11 around 7:30 p.m. The vehicle’s airbags did not go off, and it appeared to be a low-impact accident. The driver, later identified as Pamela Rae Martinez from Glendale, died at the scene.

Eight people reportedly filming a religious reality show called Bad Girls Gone God had to be rescued off a mountain in Arizona. Three people were taken to hospital for heat-related problems. The Phoenix Fire Department said on Facebook that the people on the women’s retreat needed help to leave the Echo Canyon Trail on Camelback Mountain. Fire officials said the group began their hike around 7am and didn’t bring a lot of water or other supplies. 2 children killed, woman hurt after street sweeper truck falls from flyover onto I-10 in west Valley

TOLLESON, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) — Two young girls are dead and a woman is hurt following a crash in the westbound lanes of I-10 near Loop 101 in the west Valley. Police say the accident happened shortly after 3 a.m. when a street sweeper traveling on the off-ramp from southbound Loop 101 to eastbound I-10 drove off the flyover and landed in the westbound lanes of I-10 below. According to Sgt. Jacob Melki with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, first responders arrived to find the driver trapped inside and a child who had been ejected from the truck nearby.
