Georgia adds Griffin Scroggs, second commitment in as many days for 2022 class

Georgia added to its 2022 recruiting class once again on Tuesday night with the commitment of Grayson High School (Loganville, Ga.) offensive lineman Griffin Scroggs. His announcement comes as the second for the Bulldogs in two days following Dillon Bell's decision on Monday. Rated a three-star according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Scroggs has the ability to play both guard and center on the interior of the offensive line and has impressed the Georgia staff on several occasions this summer.

Georgia ranked No. 5 in Preseason CBSSports 130 for 2021

In January, CBSSports tabbed Georgia as the No. 3 team for the 2021 season. In June, CBSSports called Georgia a smart bet for winning the national championship. That same month, the outlet projected Georgia to go undefeated in the regular season. Now, with CBSSports and 247Sports contributing ballots, the preseason CBSSports 130 has been released, and Georgia comes in at No. 5, behind Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Ohio State.

Peach State OL and Georgia target Griffin Scroggs de-commits from Georgia Tech

An in-state target is back on the market as Loganville (Ga.) Grayson offensive lineman Griffin Scroggs announced on Monday that he has de-committed from Georgia Tech. "I would like to thank Coach Collins and Coach Key for giving me an opportunity to play for Ga Tech in the future but after conversations with my family and those close to me, I will be de-committing from Ga Tech," Scroggs said, via his personal Twitter account.

Wiley inks guard from Georgia

Wiley College head men’s basketball coach Derrick Mitchell is pleased to announce the signing of freshman point guard Travis Burrus from Austell, Georgia. Burrus played at South Cobb High School. He was a First Team All-Region Point Guard. In his senior season, he guided the Eagles to 16 wins and a berth in the Georgia High School Association Class 6A state playoffs.

Georgia trending in Crystal Ball for WR Dillon Bell with commitment looming

This week saw Georgia get its first Crystal Ball prediction on a top target and since then, the Dawgs have emerged as the co-leader in the predictive feature. Four Crystal Ball picks have been submitted for Houston Kincaid wide receiver Dillon Bell in the last few days, putting Georgia tied with Michigan for the impressive pass-catcher. While Bell has an official announcement date of Nov. 6, he posted on his social media account that a commitment should come in the next week.

Georgia men’s basketball’s 2-time opponents, SEC game locations announced

Georgia men’s basketball’s five home-and-home matchups and locations for all other SEC matchups were announced on Wednesday ahead of the 2021-22 season. The Bulldogs will face Auburn, Florida, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt twice during the 2021-22 season. Georgia will host SEC opponents Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss and Tennessee and travel to play Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State and Missouri.

Some familiar faces on Georgia’s 2021-22 SEC basketball schedule

ATHENS – Georgia will go against three of its former players in SEC play next season as the conference released the matchups for the next season. The Bulldogs, in their fourth season under coach Tom Crean, will see sophomore K.D. Johnson twice as Auburn has been scheduled as one of Georgia’s five SEC home-and-home opponents for the 2021-22 season. Georgia’s other home-and-home opponents are Florida, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt.

Georgia adds Western Carolina to 2021-22 basketball schedule

The Georgia Bulldogs have added the Western Carolina Catamounts to their 2021-22 basketball schedule, according to a report by Rocco Miller. Georgia will host Western Carolina at Stegeman Coliseum on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, per the report. Western Carolina, a member of the Southern Conference (SoCon), finished the 2020-21 season 11-16 overall and 4-13 in SoCon action.
