King City Teen Hospitalized Following Wednesday Afternoon Accident

STANBERRY, MO – A King City teen was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Gentry County Wednesday afternoon. The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred as 65-year old Gregory Dias of Stanberry was slowing to turn into a private drive from US 169, one half mile south of Stanberry. A 16-year old male driver from King City struck the rear of Dias’ vehicle.

Two Maryville Residents Charged with Trafficking Drugs in Gentry County

GENTRY COUNTY, MO – Two Maryville residents were taken into custody on Saturday in Gentry County on suspicion of drug trafficking. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an officer made contact with 37-year old Ryan Eckstein during a traffic stop around 4:15 in the afternoon. A K-9 was deployed to the scene and it is alleged a subsequent search yielded approximately 84 grams of a substance believed to be Methamphetamine and 45 Oxycodone tablets.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a Maryville resident was arrested Saturday afternoon in Gentry County. Thirty-six-year-old Lisa Coots was accused of trafficking methamphetamine, unlawful possession of synthetic narcotics, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Thirty-seven-year-old Ryan Eckstein of Maryville was arrested at the same time in Gentry County and was accused of unlawful possession of methamphetamine and speeding. Eckstein and Coots were taken to the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail.

Two Injured In Separate Accidents In Area Counties

Two area drivers were injured in unrelated accidents investigated by the Missouri Highway Patrol over the weekend. Saturday at about 12:30 pm in Gentry County, a Chula man, 25-year-old Christain S Nelson, had moderate injuries in an accident on 1st Street in Stanberry. According to the report, Nelson was riding a motorcycle southbound on Alanthus Street and was following a vehicle driven by 54-year-old Randall B Nester of Kansas City. Nelson struck the side of the Nester vehicle as Nester was attempting to make a turn. Nester was not injured. Nelson was taken to Grand River Regional Hospital.
