Man accused of holding woman hostage at gunpoint at Jane Lew home

JANE LEW, W.Va (WDTV) - A man was charged after officers said he held a woman hostage at gunpoint at a home in Jane Lew last week. Officers responded to the home around 1:15 p.m. on Friday in reference to a woman saying she had been held hostage at gunpoint, according to a criminal complaint.

Upshur Co. woman jailed following February arrest

BUCKHANNON — One Upshur County woman is behind bars after a traffic stop led to an arrest earlier this year. According to court documentation, on February 2, 2022, Upshur County Sheriff’s Deputy Tanner Collins initiated a traffic stop on a Buick at Jenkins Ford, located on Brushy Fork Road. At that time, the vehicle did not have an inspection sticker displayed on the vehicle. Deputy Collins approached the vehicle and began talking to the driver, later identified as the defendant, 44-year-old Christa Lynn Chipps, of Buckhannon. Chipps immediately handed Deputy Collins her license and stated it had been suspended.

Buckhannon man arrested after being caught in the act

BUCKHANNON — One local man now faces a felony charge after his employer caught him in the act on Thursday, August 4. According to court documentation, Buckhannon Police Sergeant Theron Caynor responded to A & S Towing after the owner called the Upshur County 911 Center to report a theft in progress. The owner stated that an employee, later identified as 25-year-old Justin Keith Knicely of Buckhannon, was allegedly in the process of stealing a catalytic converter off a 2006 Jeep Liberty that was parked at the company tow lot, located at 38 A Plus Rental Drive in Upshur County.
