64 tons of food given out in Gastonia in 2-plus hours
More than 64 tons of groceries were given out in a little over two hours’ time during a giveaway Saturday at Gastonia’s Tabernacle Baptist Church. Vehicles were lined up at 7 a.m., two hours ahead of Saturday’s scheduled start time, and organizers opted to start 30 minutes early as the line continued to get longer and longer.
