BEAVER CITY — The alleged teenage victim in a Furnas County sex trafficking trial has admitted that she made false sexual allegations against a man in 2017. During defense attorney questioning Thursday morning in the Furnas County District Court trial of William J. Quinn, the girl said the man had sexually assaulted her sister. Although her sister didn’t report the incident to police, the girl wanted the man to get into trouble so she told authorities he sexually assaulted her.

Sex trafficking victim said she was sold to several men for $50

BEAVER CITY — Fear is what led the alleged victim in a Furnas County sex trafficking case to have sex with over a dozen men. For over four hours Wednesday the now 17-year-old victim told a harrowing story of how she was first friended by William J. Quinn of Oxford through the social media network Facebook while living with her sister in North Carolina. At the time the girl was 15 years old and spent much of her time taking care of her niece’s and nephews.

Opening statements begin for trial of William Quinn

BEAVER CITY, Neb. — A jury of 12 men and only two women heard opening statements in the trial of William "Billy" Quinn on Wednesday. The Furnas County Court has dropped the first count against Quinn for first-degree sexual assault of a child. But he still faces the remaining 14 counts where he has pleaded not guilty.

Jurors hear from lone alleged victim in Furnas Co human trafficking case

A Furnas County District Court jury of 12 men and two women began Wednesday morning with opening statements by attorneys involved in the trial of 57-year-old William “Billy” Quinn. The Oxford man faces 14 felony counts in a child sex trafficking investigation that has resulted in about a dozen other men being charged as well. District Judge David Urbom is presiding over the trial. At the end of the trial, 12 of the jurors will be deciding the case.

Quinn, 57, of Oxford will begin Monday in Furnas County District Court at Beaver City. There have been 160 people summoned for jury selection, which is scheduled to take place Monday and Tuesday.
