Fulton County Hosts Small Business Funding Webinar

Select Fulton in partnership with Access to Capital for Entrepreneurs (ACE) and Fulton County’s Purchasing & Contract Compliance Department will host a free Small Business Funding webinar on Tuesday, October 25 at 12 p.m. The webinar focuses on supporting small business owners at all stages of development and will share funding opportunities in the form of low interest loans and new business with Fulton County.

Historic Roswell farmhouse to be preserved by sale

One of Fulton County’s oldest houses will be rehabilitated and permanently preserved in a sale brokered by the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation. The Hembree Farmhouse in Roswell, dating to around 1835, was recently purchased by Brandy and Jared Kirschner for the low price of $125,000 in exchange for strict preservation agreements. The Kirschners were not immediately available for comment on the sale, which was announced on Sept. 29.

North Fulton Chamber announces Small Business Awards

Fulton County Fresh Mobile Market opens applications

ATLANTA, Ga. (CBS46) - The Fulton County Fresh Mobile Market has opened applications to help determine what communities it will serve this fall. The market will serve several Fulton communities from Oct. 18 to Nov. 17, with priority given to food deserts. It was created to educate people living in those communities about the importance of fresh produce and provide them with fresh produce.

Fulton County faces $103 million deficit, and making sense of the Federal Reserve’s economic forecasts

Fulton County’s finance department is warning of a projected $103 million deficit following a recent vote by the county commission to reduce the millage rate. On the Thursday edition of “Closer Look,” Commissioner Khadijah Abdur-Rahman says the commission needs to seriously address where new funds could come from after viewing the latest budget projections at Wednesday’s meeting. The commissioner, who opposed the vote, says the deficit is going to lead to tough budget cuts – and could impact funding for Grady Memorial Hospital.
