Depositions of election workers in Georgia ballot case delayed

Depositions of election workers in Fulton County, Georgia, have been postponed in a lawsuit alleging that thousands of fraudulent ballots might have been cast there. The plaintiffs said they consented to allow the depositions to be rescheduled until after a judge holds a hearing on a motion to dismiss the case, according to a filing submitted to Fulton County Superior Court on Thursday.

The office of Richard Barron — elections director in Fulton County, Georgia — received "hundreds" of harassing messages following former President Donald Trump's unsubstantiated claims of county-wide voter fraud, Reuters reported Friday. On May 3, 2021, six months after the November 3, 2020 presidential election, Fulton County election officials provided The Georgia Star News with a thumb drive containing 30 files those officials said complied with an Open Records Request made by The Star News. The request made to Fulton County was one in a series of Open Records Requests made to all 159 counties in Georgia to produce all chain of custody documents, known as absentee ballot drop box transfer forms, from that election.

A 36-year-old fugitive is dead after being shot by police Wednesday afternoon in Fulton County. CDC awards $44 million in grants to address health disparities in Georgia

ATLANTA — CDC has awarded the Georgia Department of Public Health and the Fulton County Board of Health $44,133,376 to address COVID-19-related health disparities. The funding, part of a $2.25 billion nationwide investment, seeks to advance health equity by expanding state, local, U.S. territorial, and freely associated state health department capacity and services. This is CDC’s largest investment to date to improve health equity in the United States.

Zone 2 Officers Make An Arrest After Observing Slider Crime Activity at Gas Station

Zone 2 officers on heightened alert for slider crimes find their proactive efforts paying off. On May 31, 2021, Zone 2 officers were on the lookout for slider crime activity when they stopped to observe the QT Parking lot at 761 Sidney Marcus Boulevard. They quickly noticed two males walking through the parking lot and realized the pair was closely watching vehicles as they parked. The officers watched the pair for an extended period and saw them walking to and from the parking lot, in between fuel pumps, around parked cars and looking into at least one parked vehicle. Officers approached the two and began speaking with them. As they talked, an officer noticed one of the males, 19-year-old Cedric Woods, was carrying a concealed handgun.
