On The Road With Blues Musician Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram

Twenty-two-year old Grammy-nominated artist, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, known as the defining blues voice of his generation, is on a roll. Kingfish came into prominence in 2019 when he brought out his first eponymous album Kingfish on Alligator Records. He was 19 years old. Since then, from his hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi to stages around the world, Kingfish has headlined two national tours and performed with such artists as Buddy Guy. He was interviewed by Sir Elton John on Rocket Hour, released a duet with Bootsy Collins, and recently opened for the Rolling Stones in London. He has been nominated for a total of nine Blues Music Awards and has won them all.

Christmas Shoebox workshops to be held

A workshop extravaganza is planned for August 13 at Friendship Baptist Church in Grenada. A project leader workshop will be held from 9:30 – 11:30 am. Arrest Made in Connection to Shooting

After a shootout at Bennie Gooden Estates in Clarksdale, John Martin was arrested and charged with three counts of Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling. This is the second arrest in connection with this shooting. More arrests are expected as the investigation continues.

The Delta Blues Museum is Mississippi’s oldest music museum

Established in 1979 by the Carnegie Library Board of Trustees and re-organized as a stand-alone museum in 1999, the Delta Blues Museum is the state’s oldest music museum. Since its creation, the Delta Blues Museum has preserved, interpreted, and encouraged a deep interest in the blues story. The Delta Blues Museum had its 43rd anniversary on January 30th. Still, the celebration lasts throughout 2022 with new exhibits and more exciting events that highlight the new and preserve the Blues of the past.

CFFC 111 Results

CFFC is back for their second show of July with CFFC 111 from the Horseshoe Casino & Hotel Tunica in Tunica Mississippi. The Main Event is for the Vacant CFFC Middleweight Championship as Undefeated (3-0) Miles Lee takes on Donavon Beard (6-1). The Middleweight Title became vacant after former Champion Aaron Jeffery signed with Bellator earlier this year. CFFC 111 airs live on UFC Fight Pass at 9 PM EST & Prelims start at 7 PM on the CFFC YouTube Channel.
