FREMONT COUNTY — A beloved member of the Fremont County community passed away Thursday after a long battle with health-related issues. A memorial procession and final drive will take place in St. Anthony on Tuesday in remembrance of 53-year-old Eric Thomas. The event will be organized by the Fremont County Search and Rescue, Fremont County Sheriff’s office, Fremont County EMS, and the North Fremont Fire Department.

Voters in Fremont County will be faced with a different question on their ballot as they enter the polls Tuesday May 16. That question is regarding whether or not the Fremont Joint School District should consider conducting a study as to whether or not they should split the district between the north and the south. South Fremont’s softball team bounced back from its first district tournament loss to beat Sugar-Salem 14-9 and secure its fourth 3A District 6 title in a row. Sugar-Salem built a 5-1 lead before the Cougars released a hitting explosion in the third inning. The Green Timber Historical Society hopes to raise badly needed funds to restore the foundation of the old Green Timber School. “We’d like to raise $25,000.
