Onley Post Office Parking Changes Confuse Neighbors; Owner Reaction. For many visiting the small post office in Onley, Va., parking in the lot next door, owned by Onley Baptist Church, had been commonplace. Recently, however, barriers went up blocking access to the lot. This has caused confusion and frustration among patrons of the post office.

The 68th annual Wachapreague Volunteer Fireman’s Carnival wraps up it’s run Saturday night. One last chance for oyster, clam fritter, soft crab, crab cake, or hamburger sandwiches. Rides and Bingo are also featured along with live music, and a raffle of a golf cart from Shore Custom Carts.

It’s time for a change. The town of Onley needs a good makeover. Elections are coming up this November and we need an entirely new council. It is very sad that only a few people come to the meetings. I can understand why. The meetings are long and drawn out and very little gets accomplished. The council members vote on things, forget that they voted on a subject, and months later vote again on the same topic that was already voted on.

The Samuel D. Outlaw Memorial Blacksmith Shop is scheduled to host its grand opening Sunday, July 3. The memorial honors the life of local blacksmith and entrepreneur Samuel D. Outlaw. Gerald Boyd, co-owner of Peaceworks Center for Well Being in Exmore, played a significant role in reviving the blacksmith shop....

The parking lot to the post office in Onley has been blocked off. The Onley Baptist Church owns the lot. A youth ministry recently leased it. Barriers were put up last month.

The Boys & Girls Club held a Field Day recently at Sawmill Park in Accomac hosted by the Parent Committee. The youth enjoyed activities such as kickball, dodgeball, 3-leg racing, ring toss, tug-of-war, the bounce house and water balloons. Collins Sr. and the late Joan Ann Boyce Collins. Starting at a young age, Bill loved electronics and computers. He could rewire or create just about anything related to electronics.

Mr. John Edward Farlow Sr., better known as Eddie, 69, husband of the late Thelma Simpson Farlow and a resident of Willis Wharf, passed Monday, June 27, 2022, at this residence. A native of Willis Wharf, he was the son of the late Bernie Todd Farlow and the late Edna Bell Farlow. A retired commercial fisherman, Eddie loved motorcycles, the Washington Redskins, muscle cars, seafood (catching and eating it), fishing, Swap Shop, and yard saling.

According to Onley Mayor Matt Hart, a major retail business is coming to Four Corner Plaza this fall. Marshall’s, an American chain of off-price department stores owned by TJX Companies, has applied for signage permission for a new location at Four Corner Plaza, in the former Peebles Department Store on the south end of the shopping complex.
