LONG CREEK – Limited details have been released regarding a crash that resulted in a small fire yesterday on Highway 395B. According to Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley, a Long Creek resident crashed his motorhome near mile post 77, Wednesday evening, on 395B north of Long Creek. No injuries were reported. The motorhome burned and was completely destroyed. The Sheriff wrote, “Both lanes of travel were blocked for some time. A Grant County Deputy and an Oregon State Police Trooper responded along with Oregon Department of Forestry resources.”

JOHN DAY – The 13th Annual Tribute to Fallen Soldiers Memorial Torch Motorcycle Ride begins on Saturday, July 9, 2022 in Eugene. According to a release provided by the John Day Elks, on Sunday, July 10, 2022, the Tribute Ride and the Fallen Soldiers Memorial Flame is scheduled to make a visit and lunch stop in John Day. The riders officially requested the John Day Fire Department participate in the arrival of the Fallen Soldiers Memorial Flame by hanging and displaying an American Flag.
