A spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department said on Thursday that Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges was arrested on a felony charge in Los Angeles, and released on $130,000 bail. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department records show that the 24-year-old Bridges was arrested at 1:55 p.m. local time Wednesday and booked at 5:37 p.m. He was released just after 8 p.m. and has a court date scheduled for July 20.

Celia Gaitan Muñoz was born on March 22, 1960, in Charlotte and resided there for the majority of her life. Her eternal life transition was tranquil and peaceful, surrounded by a room filled with the love of her family. Her departure came to pass at 9:11 p.m. on June 18, 2022, at the age of 62. Three outstanding members of the Tilden FFA Chapter have made a huge haul in the Texas FFA Scholarship process recently. The students completed online applications which passed through area and state level preliminary checks, as well as state finalist interviews at Tarleton State University. There were 300 FFA members in the statewide pool of semi-finalists, and these three youngsters from Tilden were among the 146 recipients of scholarships. Applicants are judged on their grades, standardized test scores, supervised agricultural experiences, FFA leadership, and participation in a variety of FFA activities at the local, district, area, and state levels. Dilley’s Clay Tom Hurt was crowned the 2022 Texas High School Rodeo Association state champion in steer wrestling during the THSRA state finals on Saturday, June 11. The Poteet High School BBQ team has already earned their way to State after smoking the competition at the Texas High School BBQ Cook-Off in Tilden on March 26. This was their first high school competition. Winning second place overall team, the Poteet Strawberry Smokers placed first with their chicken and second with their ribs and brisket. They also had a fourth-place brisket and took eighth in dessert.

Caleb Segura, age 10, shot his first buck on Dec. 19 at his uncle’s ranch in Atascosa County while hunting with his dad, Johnny Segura. Johnny rattled in this 8-point buck and Caleb made a perfect shot. Caleb dedicates this special hunt to his late grandfather, Catarino ‘Tronco’ Segura, of Tilden, who loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed being in the outdoors.

Landon Longan, age 8, shot his first buck on Nov. 23 at DL Ranch in Tilden while hunting with his dad, Joshua Longan. He is the grandson of David and Deborah Longan of Tilden. The buck was taken down with a .243 caliber rifle on the first shot.
