As June winds down into July, an increasing number of fireworks tents have begun to pop up across Pueblo. Although the independent sellers are vetted by the city's fire department and are supposed to have only legal wares, here's what residents of the county seeking to celebrate Independence Day need to know.

Third DUI-related crash in Pueblo in the past month claims life of Rocky Ford biker

Another crash claimed the life of a Rocky Ford motorcyclist Sunday afternoon after a driver collided with the biker at the intersection of Orman and Lake Avenues in Pueblo. The motorcycle was hit at the intersection by a vehicle that left the scene, according to witnesses interviewed by Pueblo police. The motorcycle driver was reported to have suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.

Power REIT Acquires 10-Acre Property in Crowley County for Greenhouse Development

Power REIT, a real-estate investment trust (REIT) that owns real estate related to Controlled Environment Agriculture, has acquired a 10-acre property in Crowley County, through a wholly owned subsidiary (“PropCo”). The property will include the construction of a 12,000-square-foot greenhouse space and 12,880 square feet of support buildings and infrastructure that will be funded by Power REIT for a total capital commitment of approximately $2.9 million.

Teen forgets to put pickup in park, chases vehicle into Lake Pueblo

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - A teen found themself chasing a truck into Lake Pueblo after forgetting to put it into park Sunday morning. “A teen applied the parking brake on the truck but failed to put it into park. It started to roll. The driver then tried to stop the truck,” wildlife officials said.
