Genevieve (Jenny) Flinn, 102, of Bedford, passed away at 1:55 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022, at Garden Villa Nursing and Rehab in Bedford. Born in Jackson County to George and Janie (Butler) Hughes, she married Charlie Flinn on November 26, 1938, and he preceded her in death on November 9, 1992.

Indiana Firefighter, 24, Fatally Shot by Stranded Motorist After Stopping to Help Him

A Good Samaritan was fatally shot by a stranded motorist after he pulled over to assist him. Zachary Holly, a reserve officer from the Palmyra Police Department in Indiana, initially responded to assist the driver who allegedly ran out of gas and parked his car on the side of the road around 9:30 p.m. Monday, according to a news release from the Indiana State Police.

BEDFORD – The 23rd annual Great U.S. 50 Yard Sale is taking place through the remainder of the weekend, with locations here locally in Bedford for all to join in. Indiana fireman fatally shot trying to help motorist

An Indiana fireman was fatally shot earlier this week after attempting to help a motorist in southern Palmyra, Ind. Indiana State Police reported on Wednesday that, according to investigators, Kentucky resident Justin Moore had been driving on an Indiana highway when he pulled over on Monday night and sought help to get gas, having apparently run out.

Indiana State Police say pulled to the side of the road on SR 135 just south of Palmyra after he ran out of gas. Moore asked a local resident for help before returning to his vehicle.
