DARKE COUNTY ASKS FOR HELP IN LOCATING MISSING TEENS

(Darke County, OH)--The Darke County Sheriff’s Department on Monday asked for the help of the public in locating two missing teenage girls. 16-year-old Marissa Portemont and 14-year-old Celicia Ramirez were last seen on Sunday. The girls were seen in the Union City area, but investigators now believe they may have traveled north to Portland. Investigators also say that a scammer has called local residents to ask for money to help find the two girls and are cautioning people not to contribute cash.

Capybara pups debut at Texas zoo

HOUSTON — The Houston Zoo has welcomed two new additions that are now on display to visitors. The two capybara pups were born April 11 to mom Squirt and dad Rio, the zoo said in a news release. While this is the zoo’s third litter of capybaras, this was Squirt’s first birth. The zoo said in its news release that after keeping the pups and their mother separated for several days of private bonding, they are now back in the open.

Grand parade registration deadline fast approaching

VERSSAILLES — Versailles is getting ready for two parades. Poultry Days will offer the Grand Parade at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, and the Antique Car Parade on Sunday, June 12. All registration for the Grand Parade will be online at VersaillesPoultryDays.com. Awards will be given for Junior Civic, Senior Civic, Commercial, Theme Award, Queen’s Trophy, Mayor’s Trophy and Chairman’s Choice. The deadline for registering for the Grand Parade is May 21st.
