Jacobs is awaiting a kidney transplant after doctors discovered the Chesapeake High School sophomore has end-stage renal failure.

Howard County police are investigating a suspected homicide at a hotel in the 5800 block of Bonnie View Lane in Elkridge. Police were called around 8 a.m. for a report of a deceased man inside a room at the Econo Lodge. Investigators suspect foul play but the cause of death is unknown at this time. BALTIMORE (WJZ) — One person was killed and three more were injured Wednesday in a four-vehicle crash in Harford County, authorities said.
Troopers were called to the scene of the crash on Interstate 95 North in Havre de Grace shortly after 6 p.m., Maryland State Police said in a Thursday news release.
Based on a preliminary investigation, troopers believe a Toyota Camry was heading north on I-95 when it crossed into the left shoulder and struck the crash attenuator of a Maryland Transportation Authority vehicle.
The Toyota ricocheted off the MDTA vehicle and into another lane, where it collided with a Lexus RX350, troopers said. The Toyota was then struck by a tractor trailer.
A passenger in the Toyota, 52-year-old Ehsan Ulhaq, died at the scene. The driver, 45-year-old Laila Jan, was flown to Shock Trauma for treatment. Two other Toyota passengers and the MDTA vehicle’s driver and passenger were also hospitalized.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Longtime Sen. Patrick Leahy of Vermont had a "successful" hip replacement surgery Thursday afternoon after breaking it a day earlier, his office said in a statement. The 82-year-old Democrat is "comfortably recovering" at a hospital in the Washington, D.C., area, the statement read. He will begin physical therapy after "sufficient healing."

WASHINGTON, DC (7News) — MPD is asking for help identifying and locating two people connected to an armed robbery in Northwest D.C. on June 23. Two suspects, seen wearing tactical vests with the word "Detective" written across the chest, entered a business in the 1500 block of 9th Street, Northwest at 2:11 p.m., pulled out handguns and demanded property, MPD said. The two suspects then assaulted victims and stole property before fleeing in two cars, MPD added.

Authorities have released the body camera footage from a fatal police involved shooting that happened last May in Maryland (scroll down for video). Ralph Picarello III, 39, was killed after charging at officers while armed with knives during a domestic disturbance call on Boundbrook Way in Essex on May 4, according to the Maryland Attorney General.
