Pembroke shooting leaves 1 hospitalized

PEMBROKE — Police here are investigating a Thursday morning shooting that sent one Pembroke resident to the hospital, according to the department’s interim police chief. The shooting took place about 2:04 a.m. at Locklear Court located on Lumbee Street in Pembroke, according to interim Chief of Police Adrian Hunt. Locklear Court is operated by the Pembroke Housing Authority.

Loris Man Arrested in Connection to Armed Robbery

A Loris man was arrested on Tuesday in connection with an armed robbery in Myrtle Beach in April. 18 year old Nyshawn Doctor was charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault and battery, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and grand larceny between $2,000 and $10,000. On April 12th, police were called to the 2800 block of North Ocean Boulevard for a call about an armed robbery. The victim said that Doctor pulled out a gun and hit him with it and took cash and jewelry. Doctor is behind bars at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $115,000 bond as of this morning.

Dutch Fork schools crown Miss Silver Foxes

The Miss Junior Silver Fox and Miss Silver Fox Pageant for 2022 took place on May 14. The Pageant was presented on behalf of the Dutch Fork High School Air Force JROTC Booster Club. The pageant has raised about $35,000 over the last 4 years.
