Location: 901 W Main Street (Hoopeston Animal Rescue) Details: HFD was dispatched to the above location for a smoke alarm. No injuries were reported. Details: HPD officers conducted a traffic stop a computer search showed Mr. Simpson to have a warrant out of Ford County. Mr. Simpson was arrested and transported to HPD for processing and later transported to Ford County Jail.

FISHER – The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School boys track and field team finished fifth with a score of 33 during Tuesday’s Heart of Illinois Conference Meet. Markus Miguel finished second in the shot put with a throw of 13.65 meters while Jake Zumwalt finished ninth with a throw of 10.6 meters.

ST. JOSEPH – The Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley High School softball team lost 10-0 to St. Joseph-Ogden on Tuesday. Kyra Kietzman provided GCMS’s lone hit. On the mound, Brynn Boundy allowed seven runs – four earned – on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts through four innings pitched. Mallory Rosendahl allowed three earned runs on four hits and no walks with one strikeout through one-third of an inning.
