Helicopter brings stranded Everglades air boaters to safety

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — South Florida rescue crews responded to the Everglades after reports of two stranded airboats rang in Sunday afternoon. Both airboats were 10 miles north of Tamiami Trail near SW 8th Street and Old Tamiami Trail with five people on board. One was in a difficult-to-reach location and had to be evacuated by helicopter.
