IRON RIVER, Mich. (WLUC) - Michigan Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Michael Brown visited with supporters in Iron River Monday. This is the second stop for Brown on his week-long tour of the U.P. Some of the issues he addressed with his supporters include; adding a new economic zone in the U.P., lowering income tax to 3.25 percent after his first term, and addressing public safety downstate.

Iron Mountain ‘Shred Fest’ Event Labeled Sucessful

First National Bank & Trust’s May 14 Shred Fest- a free event for the community to safely and securely destroy unused documents, also accepted free-will donations. In addition to helping members of the community destroy over 11,2200 lbs. of documents, the donations raised are also going to help local people in need at the Light at the Inn, the Dickinson County faith-based homeless and emergency shelter referral service.

These events are meant to bring the community together to support a local fund or foundation by donating our profits from the entire day. Wisconsin Marine Corps League convention brings veterans together

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - The Department of Wisconsin Marine Corps League will wrap up its annual convention on Saturday with a banquet celebration. Over 60 U.S. Marine veterans from Wisconsin met at Pine Mountain Resort in Iron Mountain for the convention. Connie was born on Nov. 23, 1924, in Iron River, Michigan to Frank John Rawnick and Hedwig “Edna” Rawnick (nee Znorski) in Iron River.
