Couple allegedly left child unattended inside car to break into apartment

Williamsport, Pa. —Officers arrived at an Old Lycoming residence on May 26 to find two people standing at the bottom of a ladder leading to a second story window. Both individuals allegedly stated “we didn’t even get inside yet” as officers attempted to speak with them about the situation. Colleen Lynn Mattison, 23, and Brandon Putman, 24, both of Williamsport were in the process of eviction from the property located near the 1800 block of Blanchard Avenue.

Motion filed to have previous abuse allegations thrown out in upcoming homicide trial

Williamsport, Pa. —A man accused in the 2003 homicide of a Montoursville woman will challenge evidence that could possibly be presented at his upcoming trial in June. Jade Gillette Babcock, 52, of Williamsport, through counsel, filed a motion in 2019 that would preclude any previous instances of abuse, PFAs, simple assaults, and other assault related offenses against the accuser from being presented at his trial.

Man allegedly out-pizzas the Hut 11 times with credit card scam

Lock Haven, Pa. —A Philadelphia man is facing multiple counts of theft after an investigation uncovered a credit card scam to get food from a Pizza Hut in Lock Haven. Franck-Oliver Gbai, 21, allegedly ordered food 11 times between the dates of March 8 and April 25, making payment with the same credit card each time. According to a release from state police, Gbai then reported the charges as fraudulent and would be refunded the money.
