2 Jacksonville men jailed in Volusia County, arrested for stealing Apple watches

Two men from Jacksonville are in the Volusia County jail Monday, accused of a multi-county crime spree involving Apple watches. According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, Tavaris Kelly, 37, and John Harkless, 33, stole four Apple watches valued at nearly $2,000 from the T-Mobile store on Palm Coast Parkway.

Teen fugitive accused of impersonating a DEA agent in Florida

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — Two out-of-state fugitives are locked up in Florida, one facing charges of impersonating a DEA agent. Last Thursday, the Flagler County Sheriff's Office arrested 41-year-old Joshua Schmidt at the wheel of a stolen pickup truck. In addition to grand theft charges in Florida, he faces a warrant for possession of methamphetamine in Virginia.

Fatal crash at golf course in Bunnell on May 21

City Clerk/Administrative Services Director, City of Bunnell. On Saturday night, May 21, at 10:01 p.m., amid several severe thunderstorms, Flagler County Sheriff Office dispatch received a call about a reckless vehicle driving on the golf course in the Grand Reserve subdivision. A Bunnell police officer responded. About 10 minutes later, the officer reported finding a vehicle submerged in a pond near the 400 block of Grand Reserve Drive. Its tail lights were visible near the surface. The officer quickly stripped off his gun belt and entered the water alone in an effort to affect a rescue.
