If you’re lucky enough to wander the grounds of Madoo—the estate of the late multi-hyphenate creative Robert Dash and the site of the new Object & Thing exhibition—it’s almost impossible not to come away impressed by its sense of otherworldliness. “I was overwhelmed by a sense of escape,” Abby Bangser, Object & Thing’s founder and creative director, says of the Sagaponack, New York, oasis. “It’s informed by traditions, along with a twist and sense of playfulness.” Opening today and running through June 25, the Object & Thing event is being held in conjunction with the Madoo Conservancy, a nonprofit organization tasked with preserving this living monument to Dash’s gardening and design taste, which will receive a percentage of sales.
