Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints chapel in Monroe tagged with graffiti

The Monroe 1st and 4th ward chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints was tagged with graffiti Wednesday night. The Stake Presidency of the Monroe Utah Stake posted on Facebook asking for members to keep a watchful eye on the church buildings. The post said they found the 1st and 4th ward building on 200 North had graffiti on it along with one of the trailers stored in the parking lot and the fence around the property.

BLM invites the public to tour Axtell wild horse off-range corrals

AXTEL — The Bureau of Land Management announces a public tour of the Axtell off-range corrals where attendees will have an opportunity to tour the facility, observe approximately 1,000 wild horses and discuss the BLM’s Wild Horse and Burro Program. The tour will take place on July 1 from 9 a.m. to noon; the facility is located at 13500 South 10490 W (mile marker 235.2 on U.S. 89), in Axtell.

Delta City Ordinance 22-297 6/29/22

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, the Delta City Council approved Ordinance 22-297: An ordinance of the council of the City of Delta, State of Utah, amending the official zoning map of Delta City. Interested parties may view the ordinance on the Delta City Website at or in person with the Delta City Offices during normal business hours, Monday – Thursday, 7 am – 6 pm.

Fourth of July celebrations are laid out, just in time for the nation’s birthday on Monday. Fillmore city’s celebrations kick off Saturday, July 2, with a children’s bike parade at the North Park at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be served, followed by a movie night on a big screen. Refreshments are going to be provided.

Cement Powder Shortage Slows Construction

Contractors in central Utah are having a hard time getting their hands on Cement Powder after the manufacturing plant that supplies up to 75% of it in Utah was shut down for a number of weeks. Ash Grove, Utah’s primary supplier, was shut down for about three weeks while waiting for a replacement part. Ash Grove shared that during that time they depleted their stockpile and will now need to catch up to industry demands.

Lady Templars shutout win over Richfield leads deeper into playoffs

MANTI—Make it 14 straight for the Lady Templar. Manti softball notched their 14th straight victory last week in the game that mattered more than any so far, shutting out No. 14 Richfield, 9-0, as the No. 3 seed in the first round of the UHSAA 3A State Softball Tournament last Saturday. The win was their 20th of the season, making it the fifth time the Lady Templars have won 20 or more games in a season since 2014, and the third straight season doing so (not counting 2020).
