MSP Leonardtown Barrack Arrests, DUI’s & Warrants Served

On 6/16/2022, TFC E. Ruggles and TFC C. DiToto conducted a traffic stop on Point Lookout Road at Adkins Road, Lexington Park, MD. A probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted which revealed suspected Marijuana and suspected Crack Cocaine. The passenger of the vehicle was identified as Keenan Anthony Berry, 26 of Lexington Park, MD. A search of Berry’s person also revealed suspected Crack Cocaine. Berry was arrested by Tpr J. Pettitt and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged with Possession of CDS: Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS: Not Marijuana, Possession of CDS: Paraphernalia, and was also issued a civil citation for Possession of CDS: Marijuana Less Than 10 Grams.

St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office On View Arrests And Warrants Served

Obstructing and Hindering- On June 16, 2022, Cpl. Holdsworth responded to the 21600 block of FDR Boulevard in Lexington Park, for the reported trespassing. While conducting the investigation Tyrese Xavier Briscoe, age 23 of Lexington Park, arrived on scene and interrupted the investigation and attempted to remove the individual speaking with Cpl. Holdsworth. Briscoe then stood between Cpl. Holdsworth and the other party, preventing Cpl. Holdsworth from conducting the investigation. Briscoe was advised he was under arrest and resisted by pulling away and not allowing himself to be handcuffed. Briscoe was charged with Obstructing and Hindering and Resisting Arrest.

Good Vibes: The Art Center Opens in Montross

It was January 2022 when the town of Montross approached artist Janice Jones about creating a community arts center. By early April, a building had been purchased and by June it was ready to open its doors to the public with a First Friday reception. The Art Center blossomed when Jones began to pull from her many connections in the art world to bring in a cadre of artists to work with in expanding the vision of what The Art Center could be.

Where some saw an abandoned general store and post office, Keith Swann saw a restaurant. After years in the restaurant business, Swann and his wife, Holly, moved to his family’s farm in Lottsburg. He’d come thinking that it would be cool to open a restaurant, but not until December 2020 when he saw a For Sale sign in front of the old general store did the idea take flight. Opening last August, Cygnets—the term for baby swans and how the couple referred to their three children—aims to cater to all. “I didn’t want to be a seafood restaurant because there are lots of those,” Swann explains. “And I wanted the menu priced so everyone could afford it, not just special occasions.”
