Two people were arrested on drug dealing charges in Tell City, Indiana, after police say a large amount of drugs was found in their room at a local hotel. The Tell City Police Department says 40-year-old Anthony Spencer of Corydon and 23-year-old Lillian Johnson of Bloomington were arrested on charges of dealing meth, dealing marijuana, dealing in a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic, and maintaining a common nuisance.

Century Aluminum has announced plans to shut down its Hawesville smelter for 9 to 12 months starting in August. A single vehicle fatality accident closed U.S. Highway 60 for almost 2 hours Thursday(06/23). Emergency units were dispatched just before noon to the 5000 block of Highway 60, between Raymond Butler & Butler-Hobbs Roads. A 2018 Ford Taurus, driven by 38-year-old Joshua Blake of Irvington was traveling eastbound on highway 60, when, according to witnesses, the vehicle went off the right shoulder of the road, then turned left, crossing the roadway, going through a fence twice before striking a tree head-on. A small fire broke out, which was extinguished by good Samaritans with a garden hose prior to fire units arriving. Blake was pronounced dead at the scene by the Breckinridge County Coroner. The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department, Irvington Police, Harned and Hardinsburg Fire Departments and Breck Central EMS responded to the scene. Traffic was shutdown in both directions on Highway 60 while officers investigated the crash and the scene was cleared. The road was reopened just before 2:00pm. The crash remains under investigation.
