Stanberry Cancels Fireworks Display

STANBERRY, MO – The Stanberry Fire Department has cancelled the fireworks show that was scheduled for Monday evening. The fire department said the fireworks vendor was only able to supply a quarter of the fireworks for the show. Their attempts to find additional fireworks from other vendors was unsuccessful.

Two Killed in Truck-ATV Crash Near Allendale

ALLENDALE, MO – Two out-of-state residents died Tuesday evening in a crash near Allendale. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident took place around 7:30 pm 3 miles southeast of Allendale. Fifty-two year old Jorge Calvo of Hialeah, Florida was eastbound on an ATV when he crested a hill and met a vehicle driven by 37-year old Robert Moad of Denver, Missouri. Moad’s vehicle skidded across the centerline and struck the ATV. Both vehicles came to rest off the roadway. Moad’s pickup overturned on top of the ATV.

Stephanie Susan (Duncan) Delarber, age 59 of Jameson, MO passed away Monday morning, June 27, 2022, at North Kansas City Hospital surrounded by her family. Stephanie was born on July 18, 1962, the daughter of James Patrick and Sue (Taylor) Duncan in Olathe, KS. She grew up in Liberty and was a 1980 graduate of Liberty High School. She married George Delarber on October 26th, 2009, in Cameron, MO. Stephanie was a life-long Catholic. She was outgoing, quick-witted, and touched many lives. Stephanie worked in insurance risk management and had been employed at Southside Tavern since 2009. She loved to dance, the sun, and summertime. Stephanie always wore flip-flops and often went barefoot; she was even known to wear furry flip-flops in the winter. Stephanie loved the Wizard of Oz and Halloween was her favorite holiday. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Bethany Residents Injured In Rollover Accident

A pair of Bethany residents were left with minor injuries in a one-vehicle rollover accident just before 11:30 this (Friday) morning in Harrison County. According to Troop H of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 11:15 A.M. 31-year-old Bethany resident Ethan R. Mann was driving a 1997 Infiniti QK4 westbound on Route H about two miles west of Gilman City when the vehicle went off the north side of the roadway. The vehicle came back onto the roadway but then overturned and came to rest on its wheels off the south side of the highway.
