Several individuals arrested for burglary and theft in Cass County

(Cass Co.) The Cass County Sheriff’s Office conducted four search warrants in Atlantic from June 24th to June 26th after the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a residential burglary at a rural address in Cass County on June 22nd. Stolen items were located at all four of the addresses where warrants were served. The Atlantic Police Department assisted with the search warrants.

Preliminary hearing set for NE man shot in alleged rural Casey, home break-in incident

(Greenfield, Iowa) – Court records show a preliminary hearing is scheduled to take place 10:30-a.m. Thursday, in Adair County, for a Nebraska man who faces Felony Class-C charges that include Theft in the 1st Degree and Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a Felony Class-D charge of Theft in the 2nd Degree, and a serious misdemeanor charge of Criminal Mischief in the 4th Degree. Those charges against 25-year-old Luis David Penaloza-Garcia are associated with a June 9th rural Adair County residential break-in. His cash or surety bond was listed as $30,000.

AC/GC Last Home Game Against Panorama Tonight

The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center softball and baseball season is coming to end with a homestand against rival Panorama tonight. The ACGC baseball club will honor their seniors tonight that include Cayden Jensen, Miles Kading, Reid Rumelhart and Charlie Crawford as they play their last game in the black and yellow. The Tigers win the Corner Conference regular season championship. They posted a run in the 1st inning and then erupted for 13 in the 2nd. Brenna Rossell had a single, a triple, and drove in two runs. Lydia Greiman drove in three runs on two hits. Makenna Askeland had a single and two RBI. Joey Reynolds had two singles and drove in two runs. Whitney Pennock had a double and three RBI. Karly Millikan allowed one hit and no walks. She struck out eight batters in three innings.

Update: Cass County Sheriff’s Report; Chiropractor arrested for Sexual Abuse

(Cass Co.) The Cass County Sheriff’s Office arrested Chad Faaborg, 47, of Exira, on June 21st on the charge of Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree. According to the complaint and affidavit, the victim reported they had an appointment with Dr. Chad Faaborg at his practice at Simply Chiropractic in Anita. The victim reported that during the appointment, Dr. Faaborg went under their clothing, fondled them and performed a sex act without their permission.

Lloyd “Butch” Kieth Small, age 80, of Atlantic, IA, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at his residence in Atlantic, IA. A memorial service for Butch will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home in Atlantic, IA, with Pastor Garry DeGeest officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will be held following the services on Thursday in the reception room at the Schmidt Family Funeral Home. Private burial will take place at St. John’s Cemetery west of Exira, IA.
