Through the city's news flash, the department is asking drivers to avoid West Ave C today as the "road will be closed to allow for repairs." Temperatures soared past the century mark on Saturday afternoon as the City of Copperas Cove’s Special Events held the 5th annual Copperas Cove Food Truck Festival. The event featured more than 20 trucks which sold a variety of cuisine to include pizza, Cajun, Caribbean, Mexican, Pacific Islander, barbecue, seafood, funnel cakes, doughnuts, boiled peanuts, and more.

Fishing, family, friends and fun were all part of the annual Kid Fish event on June 3-4 in W.M. Brook Park. The Lampasas Parks and Recreation Department sponsored the event. “This a way for us to give back to the community and provide a great outdoor experience for everyone,” Parks and Recreation Director Chris Eicher said. “We’ve even released 350 catfish into Sulphur Creek for this event.” …

This week, a small group of girls in grades 4 through 6 have been meeting every day at Copperas Cove Junior High School for Fashion Design Camp, where they get to explore their creativity with creating fashion drawings and learning about different parts of fashion and what fashion means to them personally while building their self-esteem.
