Wauseon beats Swanton for NWOAL title share

Wauseon jumped on top with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning and refused to look back, eventually pulling away for a 9-2 win over Swanton in Northwest Ohio Athletic League softball Wednesday, clinching the Indians a share of the league title with Archbold and Evergreen.

New Four County principal hired

On Tuesday, at the special meeting of the Four County Career Center Board of Education, Jeff Slattery was hired as Superintendent beginning January 1, 2023. Slattery, who is currently serving as the principal of Hicksville High School, also has experience as a teacher at Dekalb Eastern Schools in Butler, Indiana. Slattery has experience in the private sector as well, serving as the Executive Director of Trilogy Health Services in Lima, Ohio.

That’s because the Vikings outscored the Blue Streaks 3-1 in the first and Brooklyn Richardson did the rest as Evergreen advanced to the Holland District with the sectional title win.

On Friday Continental Softball battled back twice to defeat visiting Kalida in Putnam County League action. After a scoreless first the Wildcats took the early lead by plating 3 in the top of the second. The Pirates would make it a 1 run game in the bottom of the third when they scored 2 runs. Wildcats 3-2 after 3. The Pirates would tie the game in the bottom of the fourth 3 all after 4. The Wildcats would regain their lead in the top of the 5th when they scored 2 runs for a 5-3 lead. The Pirates would take their first lead in the bottom of the 5th when they scored 3 for a 6-5 Pirate advantage after 5. The Pirates would end the game when they would plate 9 in the bottom of the 6th. Pirates 15-5 winner.
