Mary (Melka) Tisue, 82, passed away on June 5th, 2022 with her family by her side. Mary was born in Ishpeming Michigan on June 18th, 1939 to Edward and Helen Melka. The family moved to Eureka, Nevada when Mary was five years old. She attended all of her school years in Eureka and met her lifelong love, Richard Tisue in high school.

ELKO – A red flag warning has been issued for White Pine, southern Eureka and Lander counties for both Thursday and Friday due to strong winds and low humidity. Gusts of up to 60 mph are expected between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. both days. Relative humidity will be as low as 6%.

Martin Peprah Tuffour, age 48, was born to the now-late Dominic Frimpong and Mary Binney, a businessman and a teacher respectively in Obuasi, Ghana. He graduated from University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa in Ghana with Geological Engineering degree and worked for Golden Star Mine at Bogoso in Ghana. He moved to America in 2006 to pursue his Master of Science degree in Economic Geology at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and worked for many mining companies including Nevada Gold in Elko and Fiore Pan mine in Eureka.

The annual “Rockets Over the Red Mesa” tradition continues at Eureka Casino Resort with the best fireworks show around. The show will be held on Monday, July 4, at 9 p.m. The fireworks will be launched from the mesa behind the casino. A patriotic playlist will accompany the fireworks and be broadcast on 88.1FM.

These are the final outstanding assays from the drill program, and they include one core hole in the Water Well zone (WWZ) and the completed silver and multi-element data from core hole BHSE-206C — totalling 861 metres of drilling.

The company tested the Oswego Target with nine reverse circulation (RC) holes totaling 767 meters after successful completion of the Water Well drilling program immediately to the west (see news releases dated February 24, March 9, and March 24, 2022).

As was widely noted last week, California Governor Gavin Newsom issued a lengthy executive order with respect to blockchain technology. According to the Governor's press release, the order aims to "aims to create a transparent regulatory and business environment for web3 companies which harmonizes federal and California approaches, balances the benefits and risks to consumers, and incorporates California values such as equity, inclusivity, and environmental protection". In the order, the Governor has assigned a number of tasks to the Department of Financial Protection & Innovation. Among other things, the DFPI is required within the next 30 days to "solicit public comments regarding the regulation of crypto asset-related financial products and services under the CCFPL [California Consumer Financial Protection Law]. Somewhat more alarmingly for members of the industry, Governor Newsom has ordered the Department to "[i]nitiate enforcement actions as appropriate to stop violations of the CCFPL and other relevant consumer financial laws". The Governor doesn't identify any violators or what those violations of the CFPL might be.

Della R. Amaya, was born in Eureka, Nevada on September 12, 1925, to Jose and Maria (Reyes) Rodriguez, where her father worked with the local ranchers. Soon after, the family of 6 moved to Riepetown, Nevada, where her father found work in the mines. When the Great Depression hit, the family moved to Las Vegas, where along the way Della’s youngest brother, Johnny, was born, completing the family of seven. The family lived in Las Vegas until the mines reopened in Riepetown, and the family returned to the area. That is where Della grew up and called home.
