Freshman OL Josh Conerly Jr. getting his chance to shine in fall camp

When Oregon landed five-star tackle Josh Conerly Jr. in the class of 2022, the bar for expectations was already high. Conerly Jr. is Oregon's highest-rated offensive line recruit of all time. He was rated as the No. 1 OT in the Top 247 and the No. 2 OT in the 247 Sports Composite rankings. A consensus five-star recruit, Conerly Jr., is used to expectations, and Oregon fans are used to, in recent memory, five-stars being productive immediately. With the likes of Kayvon Thibodeaux, Noah Sewell, and others, Oregon has acquired some of the top talents in the country as recruits.

That it came Wednesday on the sixth day of camp wasn’t necessarily noteworthy, although players did get after each other a bit too much during Tuesday’s final day in shoulder pads only.
