ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – A potential food-borne illness in a popular grocer’s produce. Vidalia onions sold by the pound at Wegmans from June 23rd to June 24th in locations including Ithaca, Auburn, Corning, and Elmira, are being recalled due to the possibility of a listeria contamination. Officials say the product may have a 4-digit PLU code of 4159 or 4166. All products may be returned for a full refund.

Yaman Beach Open; Safe to Use

Earlier this month Yaman Beach was closed to the public due to possible contamination of the water from a truck accident on I81 that was carrying cooking oil and pesticides. The DEC completed their testing late last week and informed the City of Cortland that there were no contaminants in the water.

American Airlines To Stop Flying To These Four U.S. Cities In September

Even more flights are being cut — this time from American Airlines. And there may be more cuts to follow in the coming months. American Airlines is ending service in and out of four U.S. cities due to the ongoing pilot shortage. The cities affected are: Dubuque, Iowa; Islip, New York; Ithaca, New York; and Toledo, Ohio. In a statement, American Airlines said, “We want to fly but can’t due to the lack of regional pilots.” American hopes the move will allow it to be more reliable on its remaining flights.

After four years of business in Press Bay Alley, popular downtown Ithaca shop One Ring Donuts is looking for new ownership. According to its official website and Instagram, One Ring Donuts has been closed since April due to unexpected circumstances. Amy Cohen, One Ring’s founder, said that One Ring is open to many possibilities for its new ownership at this moment. Whoever has a donut dream, creativity, interest and skill can offer to buy the store through an online inquiry form until July 1.
