Brawl Breaks Out At Big League Dreams Sports Park In Manteca

MANTECA (CBS13) – What may have started as a friendly game of baseball turned into a brawl in Manteca on Friday night. The Manteca Police Department confirms that there were around 20 people involved in a brawl that broke out at Big League Dreams sports park. Police were called out to the facility 9:40 p.m., but by the time they arrived, they found that most of the people involved in the fight had already left. (credit: snowradio.net) Police say one person who stayed had suffered minor facial injuries. A video of the brawl was shared on Facebook and shows the chaos that erupted on the field. According to the park’s website, the facility boasts restaurants, batting cages, a kids’ play area, six major league replica fields, and a 20,000-square-foot pavilion.

Sheriff K-9 Captures Fleeing Motorcyclist

MODESTO – A motorcyclist that led deputies on a pursuit was captured by a Stanislaus Sheriff K-9 early Sunday morning. At about 1:19am a deputy attempted to stop a motorcyclist in the area of Hatch and Carpenter Roads. The motorcyclist failed to stop and fled north on Carpenter. Deputies pursued the motorcycle as it ran past stop signs into West Modesto.

Friends of slain Modesto mother vow to support her two kids

MODESTO, Calif. - Friends of Michelle Gonzales, the Modesto mother killed on Tuesday, have vowed to protect her two kids. The 29-year-old was allegedly shot and killed by her boyfriend, in a violent crime spree that ended with three dead, including the suspect, Raymond Calderon. San Jose police shot and killed Calderon, during a standoff on Wednesday.

Teen Arrested After High Speed Chase That Began in Ceres

CERES – A 14 year old boy was arrested Friday night after leading authorities on a pursuit that at times exceeded well over 100 miles per hour. At about 9:45pm, a Ceres Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle near the intersection of Whitmore Avenue and Mitchell Road. The driver did not stop and fled south on Mitchell Road. The officer was advised by dispatch that the vehicle had been reported stolen from the Bay Area.

Sold on Craigslist, a cruise ship is being restored

Built in the 1950s to carry tourists on day trips from the German port of Hamburg, the cruise ship looked bound for the scrap heap, until Chris Willson found the Aurora for sale on Craigslist.
