Youth Artwork On Display Throughout Holiday Season

Creating art can be a therapeutic and fun outlet for any artist, especially for children. And an exhibit opened Friday at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul in Erie. Youth who attend various area outreach programs created the works of art, which will be displayed and sold over the coming weeks.

"Weird Al" Yankovic is headed to Erie, bringing "The Unfortunate Return of the Ridiculously Self-Indulgent, Ill-Advised Vanity Tour" to the Warner Theatre. Playhouse Dreaming of a White Christmas

The Erie Playhouse is getting ready for the holiday season with a production of none other than Irving Berlin's White Christmas. The stage play is based on the hit 1954 film from Paramount Pictures, which was itself formed around the astounding success of the title track. Originally performed in 1941, the song later appeared on the soundtrack to the film Holiday Inn August of the next year. That fall, it spent 11 weeks at number one on the Billboard Chart. It was said to resonate deeply with U.S. servicemen overseas fighting World War II.

Venango Museum director moving on after bringing exhibits to life

Betsy Kellner has left quite a legacy during her 26 years at the Venango Museum of Art, Science and Industry. Tuesday was Kellner’s last day at the museum in Oil City’s North Side business district, where she has served as executive director since 2004. She is switching careers as she was elected Cranberry Township tax collector in November and assumes those duties next month.
