Jury acquits Erie man of attempted homicide, other charges at trial in 2019 shooting

An Erie man accused of shooting another man several times and robbing him during a reported drug deal in September 2019 was found not guilty of all charges at trial this week. The lawyer for 25-year-old Khyleal S.L. Broom said the jury was out for about an hour on Thursday before coming back with not-guilty verdicts on the nine charges Broom faced in the Erie police investigation. The charges included felony counts of attempted homicide, robbery, aggravated assault and carrying a firearm without a license.
