The family of Donté Perez Jones, a father and Army veteran, is still demanding answers about his death that police have ruled an apparent suicide. Jones’s body was found hanging in Pennsylvania’s Whitpain Township’s Wentz Run Park during Juneteenth weekend, North Penn Now reports. Investigators said a resident discovered the body leaning against a piece of playground equipment near a walking trail at 7:45 a.m. on June 17.

Lower Saucon Man Accused of Threatening Pa. Congressman

A 65-year-old Lower Saucon Township man has been charged with threatening a U.S. Congressman from central Pennsylvania, according to police and court documents. According to a police Crimewatch post and a criminal complaint filed in Northampton County District Court 03-2-04, Dennis John Hough of the 1800 block of Leithsville Road was charged last week with Terroristic Threats with Intent to Terrorize Another (Misdemeanor 1) and Threats and Other Improper Influence in Official and Political Matters (Misdemeanor 2).

Mass. man accused of strangling a mother to death with electrical cord in front of her 2 children

BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. (TCD) -- A 35-year-old man from Massachusetts reportedly attempted suicide after fatally strangling his 31-year-old "paramour" in front of her two children. According to a news release from the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, on Wednesday, June 8, shortly after 5 p.m., Northampton Township Police officers responded to the 12000 block of Clark Court to a report of a suicidal person. Authorities reportedly tried knocking on the door but were "alerted to movement inside the residence and met by a 4-year-old child, who was observed to be covered in blood."

READING, Pa. - A woman and her three children are displaced following a fire at an apartment building Wednesday. One person was also injured in the blaze. Firefighters were called to the 300 block of N. 2nd Street in Reading shortly after 3 p.m. for a fire at a 2-unit apartment building.

Pennridge selects head football coach

Last week, Chuck Burgy was officially named Pennridge’s new head football coach, replacing Cody Muller, who relocated to Texas after four years at the helm. NORTHAMPTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A man has been charged in connection with a homicide and attempted suicide in Northampton earlier in June. According to the Bucks County District Attorney, 35-year-old Thadius William McGrath of Chatham, Massachusetts is charged with 1st-degree murder, third-degree murder, endangering the welfare of a child, recklessly endangering another person and related charges.

Whitney Chandor knows the impact the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown has on those in need. She joined the VIA in 1973 after her mother-in-law passed away from lung cancer. She had been treated at Doylestown Hospital, which was founded by the VIA in 1923. Chandor saw the great care provided to her mother-in-law at the hospital and wanted to give back. She started volunteering at the hospital, a job she continues to this day as a hospital chaplain.

Police ID Suspect in Attemped Bicycle Theft in Society Hill

Lower Saucon Township Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man suspected of attempting to steal a bicycle in the Society Hill development earlier this month.
