Editorial: District elections for College of Marin board make sense

When it comes to converting to district elections, the College of Marin Board of Trustees has been a likely candidate for years. At one time, most of the board’s elected members lived within five minutes of the Kentfield campus. In addition, for many years, the board had no trustee from Novato, the home of the Indian Valley campus, which has long been cause for criticism because its enrollment fell far short of its 1972 projections.

California's recall system feels like Jim Crow-era voter suppression. It can be fixed

California voters closed the door on a potentially catastrophic Republican-led recall attempt this month, and I’m already stressing about the next one. I’m referring to the recall efforts against San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin. Since being elected in 2019, Boudin has championed progressive, less-punitive policies related to criminal justice....

Recall the recall

By now, most have heard about Gov. Gavin Newsom’s victory in the 2021 California gubernatorial recall election. Against the Republican tide, the current vote count illustrates that approximately 62.5% of California voters oppose Newsom’s removal. Regardless of whether or not you celebrated this result, there is one clear takeaway from it: California’s recall process must be reformed.

Anthony Mills: The beat goes on … for now

What the recall election results of Sept. 14 reveals is that the State of California and many other states are on the irrevocable road to a cul-de-sac socialism. Stockpile that debt and worry not. Spend today, spend tomorrow, and close your eyes to what is inevitable to transpire. And when the walls come tumbling down, blame anyone and/or anything other than they who engineered what is to take place.

Pass the Freedom to Vote Act: Time Running Out to Protect Right to Vote in 2022 and Beyond

Republican-controlled state legislatures have imposed new voting restrictions. They are getting ready to create more safe congressional seats for Republicans through abusive partisan redistricting. They are undermining faith in elections with false claims about election fraud and demands for fake “audits.”. The good news is that there is new momentum...

Gov. Gavin Newsom could always count on his hometown to help him survive the recall. But San Francisco isn’t a monolith, even when it comes to choosing between a Democrat and the likes of conservative talk show host Larry Elder. Just take a look at the latest tally of election...

Vote For the Person Not the Party

One can only wonder what is going through Eric Swalwell's mind, as he ponders the indictment of Hillary Clinton's lawyer, a central figure in the Steele Dossier that was used as evidence to drive the first of two impeachments of President Trump. The evidence - that this was a bogus document created by Clinton operatives - was already in Swalwell's possession during the course of the kangaroo court that he dragged the nation through, driven solely by hyper-partisan zeal. My guess is he doesn't really care.

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Former President Donald Trump’s claims of voting machines showing abnormalities were false, according to court documents obtained by the New York Times Monday. Woke OCDA candidate Pete Hardin is an L.A. resident and he was caught trashing O.C. voters

(ORANGE COUNTY, CA) – Criminal attorney Pete Hardin was recently caught on tape insulting Orange County and its voters, calling them the “ugly stepchild” to Los Angeles. In addition to the derogatory comments about Orange County, Hardin can also be heard bragging about his plans to buy the election with the help of millions of dollars from the same billionaires and Super PACs that propelled George Gascon to office in Los Angeles, and Chesa Boudin in San Francisco.
