Piedmont Wealth Manager Charged In Fatal Oakland Hit-and-Run Crash

OAKLAND (KPIX 5) — A hit-and-run crash on Mother’s Day left one man dead and now the victim’s family says they want justice. The crash happened around 5:15 p.m. on May 9 in Oakland along Park Boulevard near Greenwood Avenue. The suspect in the case is 64-year-old Timothy Hamano, a wealth manager who lives in Piedmont. Hamano was arraigned at the East County Hall of Justice in Dublin on Wednesday afternoon. In addition to the criminal case against him, he’s also facing a civil suit from the victim’s family. Santa Rosa Man Killed In Traffic Accident

An 18-year-old Santa Rosa man is dead after a traffic accident in Novato Wednesday morning. Marin County sheriff’s investigators say Agustin Rojas-Rodriguez was a passenger in a vehicle trying to flee from the CHP around 1:45 a.m. A CHP officer pulled over the speeding driver on northbound highway 101 near Lucas Valley Road. Two passengers jumped out of the vehicle and ran. The driver accelerated from the scene on north 101, and later crashed at the Bel Marin Keys off-ramp. Rojas-Rodriguez was found dead in the vehicle after the driver had slammed into a light pole. The driver also took off on foot.

Two groups working to recall liberal San Francisco district attorney Chesa Boudin have raised nearly double the funds than two groups supporting the left-wing DA. The San Franciscans for Public Safety Supporting the Recall of Chesa Boudin group has raised nearly $650,000, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Another group, the Committee Supporting the Recall of District Attorney Chesa Boudin, has raised $273,000 since March.

South San Francisco Police Rescue Dog Taken During Armed Robbery

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — South San Francisco Police arrested three armed robbery suspects Wednesday in a sting operation and reunited the victims with their stolen French Bulldog. In a Facebook post published Thursday, the South San Francisco Police announced the success of a sting targeting the suspects in an armed robbery last month. The victims — including the dog — were staying at a hotel on the 300 block of South Airport Boulevard when the suspects forced themselves into the room and proceeded to punch one of the victims for several minutes until using a metal object to strike his head. Prada the French Bulldog after being rescued. (South San Francisco Police) After the attack, the suspects stole the French Bulldog “Prada” and the other victim’s cellphone before leaving. Detectives tracked down the three 20-year-old suspects, who were spread across San Francisco, Daly City and Pinole. On Wednesday, Det. Richard Amador contacted the suspects and made arrangements to buy Prada from them that evening. Detectives and the Neighborhood Response Team officers arrested the three suspects at the meetup and returned Prada to her owner. The suspects were booked into the San Mateo County Jail for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and conspiracy.
