Tuscaloosa Police arrested a second suspect in the Spades Restaurant and Lounge shooting that left a man critically injured in late July. As previously reported by the Tuscaloosa Thread, the incident occurred on July 27 when police were called to the West Tuscaloosa lounge on reports that a person was shot in the parking lot shortly before 1:30 a.m.

2nd suspect arrested in Spades shooting

A second person is now facing assault charges in the wake of a shooting at Spades Restaurant and Lounge last month. Timothy Powell, 39, of Eutaw was arrested Aug. 5 on a charge of first-degree assault. During his arrest, investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said illegal narcotics and numerous firearms were also found.

A man who was shot last week at Spades Restaurant and Lounge in West Tuscaloosa and his mother called for the business to be closed at Tuesday night's city council meeting. As previously reported by the Tuscaloosa Thread, the victim was an innocent bystander who was seriously wounded in the Wednesday morning shooting. Corey Kwaimaine Lewis, 24, of Eutaw was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and has since bonded out of the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
