Brenda Sue Gibbs, age 60, of Weyauwega, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 18, 1961, daughter of the late Walter and Marilyn (Brogaard) Banicki. Brenda attended school in the Weyauwega-Fremont School District. She enjoyed being a cook a number of years at the Waupaca Truck Stop. She then worked as a cashier at Festival Foods in New London for over 20 years. Brenda was currently working at Piggly Wiggly in Waupaca as a closing Manager. She was a member of Calvary Chapel in Waupaca and loved to share the gospel message. She gave everything without asking for anything in return.

Judge rules Neenah man who fatally shot grandparents in Grand Chute competent to proceed to sentencing

APPLETON - A teenager who fatally shot his grandparents will be sentenced in September after a judge ruled Friday he was competent to proceed with the case. Alex Kraus, 20, of Neenah, has already pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide. In June 2021, Kraus tried to convince a jury that a mental illness kept him from being able to understand what he did was wrong, but he wasn't successful.

Trempealeau County Man Missing Since June 14th

The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office is looking for help in locating a missing man from Ettrick. 28-year-old Derek Stawarz was last seen on June 14th in the Lasset Court Area near Seymour in Eau Claire County. The Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office reports that Stawarz was last seen wearing blue jeans, a red/orange t-shirt and carrying a sweatshirt. He is 5’11” and weighs 165 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. The car he was driving along with his cell phone, keys, and wallet were all recovered in Eau Claire County. Silver Alert canceled; man missing from Gresham found

GRESHAM, Wis. — A Silver Alert is issued for a man missing from Gresham. Police say John Krebs, 79, left North Star Casino in Gresham without his wife sometime after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. He is said to have a history of Alzheimer’s and dementia and does not normally drive alone without direction.

High & Harrison Update 6.24.22

All the sanitary and water main installation is complete. Crews are now working on the water and sewer laterals, plus replacing a couple old hydrants near Highland Drive. The lateral and hydrant work will continue into next week. Service disruptions are expected and notification will be provided as usual. SHAWANO COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - A Silver Alert for a man who went missing from a casino in Gresham has been canceled. Officials say John William Krebs, 79, has been found safe. Krebs was last seen June 22 at about 8:30 p.m. at North Star Casino. He has a history of dementia and does not normally drive alone without direction, according to the alert. Krebs left North Star Casino without his wife.
